Threats of the Florida Panther

Incorrectly perceived as a threat to humans, livestock and game animals, the panther has been persecuted and hunted nearly to extinction since the mid 1950s.. The Florida Panther is threatened by humans. Humans activities lead to the destruction of their living space. There has been reports of panthers being ran over by trucks. Also, in the search the prevalence of the species, genetic defects have been caused by excessive inbreeding.
